Moving on...
Location Planning - Tom
You need to 'scout' potential locations for your preliminary task to be filmed. This should be done by taking photographs of at least 2 potential locations and weighing up the positives and negatives of each. Think about the accessibility of your locations as you will, hopefully, be filming next Monday during our double lesson.
Our scene takes place around the English block, we will be using a teachers car boot for our trunk shot and then enter one of the P.E rooms for our dialogue
Casting - Me
All of you will have 2 characters in your preliminary task. You need to 'cast' these parts and show evidence on your blog of this process too. Remember that the people you cast need to be available to film next Monday during our double lesson. If you really struggle you can cast yourselves to appear BUT you will not be allowed to do this for your main task. Remember that you are learning how to produce a piece of media and, therefore, need to be behind the camera and 'directing' as much a spossible. The role of the director is to ensure that his or her vision for the film is realised through camerawork, acting etc. You should be giving directions and not taking them!
We originally planned on having Mr. Townell And Mrs. Pringle for our casting but due to lesson timing they were unavailable and so we are having to do the scenes ourselves
Mise-en-Scene - Nicole
This is a French term which literally means 'put in the scene'. Mise-en-scene includes things such as costume andprops. In a piece of film or television everything that appears in a shot should be there for a specific purpose. We will do more work on this at a later date.
Your actors should be directed as to the costume you wish them to wear. Actors do not turn up to a film set and wear what they want. You have to control this in your role as director.
Do you require any specific props for your filming that will need to be acquired and made available for the 'shoot'? 'Props' is short for 'properties'.
The props we are using are: Cricket Bats, Chairs, Table (normal class items) We are thinking whether to add a few blood splats onto shirts for more effect.
